"There's nothing bad to say about our stay at Mermaid's Oasis and it truly was an oasis among the many houses we've rented. To begin with, it was immaculate and very nicely appointed. It had many toys to select from and was well-located to both beach and town. Not being lovers of sand, we spent every waking hour in their fabulous pool lounging on the sun deck. At night we'd grill steaks or whip up something in their lovely kitchen; when we didn't dine out that is. There's so many great dining spots and good shopping just down the street. We plan to make a return trip next year to the Mermaid; and peacefully watch the world go by in our own little oasis by the sea. Thanks for a wonderful memory.

"Mermaid Oasis is a fantastic property! From the time you walk through the front door, the lighting is welcoming. The little touches like the cupcakes in the refrigerator with a little, "Welcome Martin Family" - and delicious! We loved the pool and hot tub. Inviting on a hot day. Lido Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches - turquoise water! The town of St. Armand's Circle offers so many shops, restaurants and fantastic deserts. Our favorites: Venezia's and Kilwins (fantastic freshly made ice cream). The staff at Cottages on the Key made our stay fantastic! Their customer service is unmatched! We will be back.

We couldn’t have asked for a better place for our family vacation! From the moment we arrived, it was obvious that this home is exceptionally well cared for. Everything was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully stocked, making it feel like a true home away from home.
The layout was perfect for our family, with plenty of space for everyone to relax and spend time together. We especially appreciated the extra touches, like the baby equipment (Pack ’n Play and other essentials), which made visits with our little one so much easier.
The property itself is beautiful, well maintained, and in a great location. It had everything we needed for a wonderful stay, and we made so many special family memories there.

This house was beautiful, immaculate and I loved everything!

Review Date: November 18, 2025

"We were there for our daughter's wedding. This house was beautiful, immaculate and I loved everything! Very clean house. Spotless. The backyard was absolutely beautiful. The pool the jacuzzi the landscaping, everything. The bathrooms were so clean and large. We had 3 adults and 3 children. My grandsons had a ball in the pool and the large bathtub in the downstairs bathroom. I cannot say enough about this house. Close to beach and Armand Circle. Which has everything!! I had groceries delivered by Whole Foods which is right over the bridge in downtown Sarasota. Very responsive host. Couldn't be happier. Thankyou Cottages on the key. The Mermaid house was perfect for my family.

"We've stayed at numerous vacation homes, so we have context for comparison. This single-family home exceeded our expectations with its spacious layout. Our daughter slept comfortably on the full-size fold-out bed in the master bedroom, which offered ample room. The property was impeccably clean and well-maintained, with amenities that worked great for our stay, including kayaks, beach chairs, towels, and even a shop vac that proved useful. The location is ideal, with easy access to nearby attractions. The backyard, featuring a well-designed pool, hot tub, and beautifully landscaped grounds, was a highlight. If you're seeking a relaxing week-long getaway, this home is a great choice.

"My husband and I spent 2 weeks in February at this lovely home. Situated in what might be the perfect location on Lido Key...a few blocks to the beach and a few blocks from wonderful dining and shopping. We walked everywhere and hardly used our vehicle. The pool and hot tub are set in a very private backyard. The screened porch was the perfect morning coffee spot. We had a few issues with the tv set up, but management was very responsive and we eventually got it figured out. The house includes lots of family friendly beach bikes, a wagon, chairs, umbrella, etc. The kitchen was well equipped with some basic spices and a few necessities. We would not hesitate to recommend this property.

The Cottages on the Keys was easy to reach and quick to respond - tho we did not have any issues - just a couple of questions.

Review Date: April 29, 2024

"We loved our stay at Mermaids Oasis. The house was beautiful and clean. The owners anticipated all of our needs to make our stay enjoyable. They provided 4 bikes which we used on morning rides to LBK and kayaks that we never got around to use. The home was 2 blocks from St Armand's Circle - so no need to worry about parking. We walked up to the fabulous restaurants nearly every night. On other nights we took the short ride over the bridge and enjoyed some great restaurants on LBK. Lido Key beach was 2 blocks the other direction and we walked there with the umbrella and chairs that the owners provided. We ended each night with a swim in the beautiful heated pool and hot tub. The Cottages on the Keys was easy to reach and quick to respond - tho we did not have any issues - just a couple of questions. Mermaids Oasis truly was a retreat and made our vacation a memorable one. We have always stayed on LBK - but we have a new favorite destination now and we will be back here next year.

"House and pool area were very clean and the host paid attention to little details that made the stay seamless. We were concerned initially about the construction next door but there was very little noise coming from there throughout our trip (occasional drilling or cutting but nothing very loud). Great pool and very walkable to restaurants and the beach. We did have an issue where the hot tub lost power but the property manager was extremely prompt getting someone out there to address and resolve the issue. We'd happily stay here again.
