Public Beach Access Information

When you come to Siesta Key, there are all kinds of fun activities you can get involved in. But you just can’t have a Florida vacation without spending some well-deserved time relaxing on the beach! On Siesta Key, there are miles of soft, white sand where you can unwind or have fun with your loved ones. Most people flock to the “main public beach” access point to get onto the sand, but there are actually a dozen places you can access the beach! Here, we’ve broken down all the Siesta Key beach access points and everything you need to know about them.

Siesta Beach Park: Main Beach Access Details

Address: 948 Beach Road

Hours: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Amenities: Lifeguard station, restrooms, showers, playground, covered pavilion, grills, picnic tables, hiking trails, bike racks, beach volleyball and tennis courts | Parking for approximately 800 cars with limited handicap parking

Description: Many guests on the island head to this access point because of the sheer number of amenities. There’s a little something for everyone, and it’s easy to spend the entire day here enjoying the beach, cooking up some lunch, or hitting the trails nearby.

Public Beach Access 1: Shell Beach

Address: 3940 North Shell Road

Hours: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Amenities: No lifeguards, access to fishing, benches | 8 parking spaces

Description: This access point at Shell Beach is little-known, but it provides quite a bit of privacy and relaxation. You’ll go into a residential neighborhood to get here, so be respectful of the locals!

Public Beach Access 2

Address: 10 Beach Road

Hours: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Amenities: No lifeguards, access to fishing, trash and recycling bins | Street parking with a required permit, 1 handicap space

Description: If you find yourself near Siesta Key Village, you can easily reach this access point. Just head west to get to the beach and explore the rocks and pier nearby.

Public Beach Access 3

Address: 100 Beach Road

Hours: 24 hours

Amenities: No lifeguards, access to fishing, trash and recycling bins | No parking

Description: Another access point just west of Siesta Key Village, this one is situated south of Sarasota Point. There’s no parking here, but you can park at the Village itself. Then, head this way to experience the beautiful and calm beach the way it was meant to be.

Address: 180 Beach Road

Hours: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Amenities: No lifeguards, access to fishing, benches, bike racks, trash and recycling bins | Parking for 4-6 vehicles

Description: Head southwest of Siesta Key Village to get to this access point. There’s limited parking that puts you just steps away from beautiful tidal pools and stunning sunset views over the water.

Public Beach Access 5

Address: 200 Beach Road

Hours: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Amenities: No lifeguards, access to fishing, trash and recycling bins | Parking for 20-30 cars

Description: This beach access point is slightly more popular than its counterparts because there’s quite a bit more parking. You’ll still find the incredible tidal pools and the close distance to Siesta Key Village that the other access points offer.

Address: 402 Beach Road

Hours: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m

Amenities: No lifeguards, access to fishing, trash and recycling bins | Parking for 40 vehicles

Description: If you can’t find a parking spot at one of the other access points, this one will likely have a spot open for you. This access point has breathtaking nature to enjoy and is located next to Siesta Gulf View Condo.

Address: 458 Beach Road

Hours: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Amenities: No lifeguards, access to fishing, trash and recycling bins | Parking for 40 vehicles

Description: This access point is virtually identical to Beach Access 7. However, this access point is located on the southern side of the Siesta Gulf View Condo. Expect amazing plant life and great views of the boats sailing near the beach.

Address: 514 Beach Road

Hours: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m

Amenities: No lifeguards, access to fishing, trash and recycling bins | Parking for approximately 20 vehicles

Description: You can find this access point located between Beach Access 8 and the Ringling Beach House. This access point is a bit hidden but offers incredible views once you find it.

Address: 564 Beach Road

Hours: 24 hours

Amenities: No lifeguards, access to fishing, trash and recycling bins | No parking

Description: A beautiful access point that can only be reached on foot, Beach Access 10 offers awesome views of the shore as well as all kinds of local plant life.

Public Beach Access 11

Address: 690 Beach Road

Hours: 24 hours

Amenities: No lifeguards, access to fishing, benches, bike racks, trash and recycling bins | No parking

Description: This access point offers a few more amenities than its neighbors but is still only accessible on foot. If you are driving, you can park at Siesta Beach Public Park and walk to this access point.

Address: 6490 Midnight Pass Road

Hours: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Amenities: No lifeguards, access to fishing, benches, trash and recycling bins | Parking for 20 vehicles

Description: This access point is one of the most popular, thanks in large part to its close distance from the Stickney Point Bridge. There are several restaurants and shops to enjoy nearby as well. Just be aware that parking is precarious, so stick as close to the street as you can.

Address: 6900 Point of Rocks Rd

Hours:24 Hours

Amenities: No lifeguards, access to fishing, trash and recycling bins | No parking

Description: This access point leads you to the famous Point of Rocks area where the snorkeling is the best in the area. Plan to get here early, as the beach is a bit more narrow than other parts of Siesta Key, but is more of a local spot. Just be aware that there is no parking, so either rent close by or expect to be dropped off to experience this beach access.
